This is How We Survive
Berowra Baptist Church is hosting a special evening on Thursday, February 26th at 7pm - "This is How We Survive", an acclaimed performance experience by spoken word poet Will Small.
Will weaves together poetry, short cinematic films, soundscapes and live storytelling to guide audiences on a journey exploring our deep interconnectedness and how we face the world when life feels dark. Drawing on themes of resilience, hope, and our shared humanity, the performance invites people into a space of reflection and connection.
This is How We Survive was created with suicide prevention funding from the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network and has been performed for over 5,000 people across NSW, with people describing it as "storytelling at its very best", "an extraordinary journey", and "beautiful, empowering and unique."
The evening is completely free with an optional donation to support mental health initiatives in NSW. The performance will be followed by supper, offering a chance to connect with others who have shared the experience.

You Don’t Have to Be “In Crisis” to Need Support.
Life can be heavy at times. Stress, loss, change, anxiety, exhaustion — none of these mean something is “wrong” with you. They just mean you’re human.
A new Mental Health Support Group is starting locally, offering a safe, respectful space to talk, listen, and grow alongside others who understand.
This group is for people who:
want practical tools for navigating life’s challenges
value connection over judgement
are looking for support, not labels
You don’t need a diagnosis.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be willing to show up.
Confidential. Supportive. No pressure to share.
